Can EV-Remarketing buy my leased car?
This applies regardless of how much of the lease remains.
Leased cars are legally owned by the leasing company, not the driver — which means we would need to purchase the car from them without VAT. That is not a viable option for us.
What happens when my lease ends?
Once your lease period is over and the car is fully registered in your name, you are free to sell it. At that point, we'd be happy to send you an offer — simply submit your car through our platform as you normally would.
The car must be at least 6 months old and have a minimum of 6,000 km on the odometer.
Documents we need
The most important document is your vehicle registration certificate — proof that the car is now legally registered in your name. The exact document depends on your country.
France
Once the lease ends and ownership is transferred to you, you'll receive an updated carte grise (certificat d'immatriculation) showing your name as the registered owner. This is the document we require before we can proceed.
Germany
The equivalent document is the Fahrzeugschein (Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I), issued by your local Zulassungsstelle. Once the leasing company transfers ownership to you, make sure it reflects your name before submitting your car.
Everywhere else
The same principle applies across Europe — we need an official registration document confirming the car is in your name. If you're unsure what that looks like in your country, just reach out and we'll guide you.
- Leased car → we cannot buy it yet
- Lease cleared and car in your name → you're ready to sell
- Make sure your registration document is updated to your name before submitting
